The Korean FA Cup in 2020 is the 25th edition of the football - cup competition for South Korean club teams . A total of 60 teams will take part in the season. The defending champions are the Suwon Samsung Bluewings .

The cup tournament was originally supposed to start with the first round on March 14, 2020, but since the COVID-19 virus spread rapidly in South Korea from February 19, the fixtures were all canceled and postponed indefinitely. On April 24th, the association announced the new cup round schedule. The first round of the cup took place on May 9, 2020. The winner of the cup qualifies for the group stage of the AFC Champions League 2021 .
