List of German champions in the 100 meter hurdles

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The women's 100-meter hurdles replaced its predecessor, the 80-meter hurdles , in the international competition program in 1969 in order to better reflect the stride length of the runners when it comes to the distance between the hurdles. There are ten hurdles, each 0.838 m high. The run-up to the first hurdle is 13 meters, the distances between the hurdles are each 8.50 m, the run-out to the finish line after the last hurdle is 10.50 m.

In the Federal Republic of Germany the competition - initially as an outsourced discipline - was part of the program of the German Athletics Championships for the first time in 1968 , alongside the 80 m hurdles . In the GDR , the new hurdle route became part of the championships in 1967. That means that both short hurdles were held twice as the GDR championship. In 1991 the 100 m hurdles at the first joint championships of reunified Germany were included in the program and are a permanent part of these championships.
