List of German champions in the 3 x 1000 meter relay
The non-Olympic 3 x 1000 meter relay was not held continuously at the German Athletics Championships - as a discipline only for men. First the competition was on the program from 1921 to 1926, then again in 1931 and from 1939 to 1942. After the Second World War , German champions were determined from 1946 to 1969 and later since 1999. Since 1991, the competition has not been held in the main event of the German Championships , but has been outsourced together with other disciplines.
Over other medium distances there is the 4 x 800 meter and the 4 x 1500 meter relay , which were held together at the German Championships from 1970 to 1998 when the 3 × 1000 m was not on the program stood. Before the Second World War it was only the 4 × 1500 m relay that was part of the championships when the 3 × 1000 m relay was missing. Only in 1931 were both medium-range - squadrons performed. No comparable relay championships were held in the GDR .
For women, the 3-by-800-meter relay is available as a medium-distance relay .

References and comments
The lists themselves were taken from the results lists or publications of the DLV, alternatively from Sport-Complete and Fritz Steinmetz (see literature ). The first names were searched , as far as necessary, in other lists of German masters , pages of the clubs as well as in the literature and the web links.
- ↑ Both at sport-komplett.de and at Fritz Steinmetz, 1953 (see literature ) , SC Werder Bremen is named as the winning relay. But there is no doubt that the SV Werder Bremen is meant, here a typo by the author F. Steinmetz was taken over when designing the corresponding website .
