Switzerland
Hydraulic rams are not only in operation on the Alps, they also supply remote houses or stables with water. There are still three manufacturers in Switzerland today: Tobler in Alt St. Johann , Zahner in Uznach and the Schlumpf company , which has been making rams since 1885. The demand has increased significantly in recent years.

Locations in Africa
The installation of hydraulic rams was an important part of development aid for African countries in the 1970s and 1980s because of the autonomous functioning of this pump . The spread of the desert and semi-desert areas has made their use increasingly difficult since the ram needs a relatively large amount of water to flow through.
Burundi
In the hilly mountainous country of Burundi, East Africa, in the municipality of Bisoro (Burundi) , a start was made in 2014 with support from Albstadt (Germany) to set up a drinking water supply for the residents with the help of maintenance-free "hydraulic rams".
DR Congo
- In Matamba-Solo, Kwango Province, water is pumped 220 meters into the village.
