Milešov (German Mileschau ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located 18 kilometers southeast of Příbram and belongs to the Okres Příbram .
geography
Milešov is located on the right side of the Vltava in the Central Bohemian hill country at the confluence of the Milešovský and Jahodový potok. To the northwest, near the district of Přední Chlum, is the dam of the Orlík dam . In the south-east rises the Hrby (627 m) with the lookout tower Onen Svět.
Neighboring towns are Žebrákov in the north, Zhoř and Podmoky in the northeast, Vrbice in the east, Kosobudy in the southeast, Planá and Koubalova Lhota in the south, Klenovice in the southwest, Lavičky and Bohostice in the west and Přední Chlum in the northwest.
history
The first written mention of Milešov dates from 1323.
Between 1960 and 1962 the Vltava was dammed in the Orlík dam west of the village . It was u. a. the village of Orlické Zlákovice flooded. Campsites Trhovky, Bor, Popelíky and Salaš are located on the right bank of the reservoir in the municipality.
Community structure
The municipality Milešov consists of the districts Klenovice ( Klenowitz ), Milešov ( Mileschau ) and Přední Chlum ( Vorder Chlum ) and the localities Hřebeny, Hrachovka and Lipí. The corridors of the flooded village of Orlické Zlákovice ( Slakowitz ) also belong to the municipality .
Attractions
- The pilgrimage church of the Assumption of Mary, built at the beginning of the 20th century, the Milešov pilgrimage takes place every year on the weekend after August 15th
