history
In 1994, the government of Prime Minister Jeff Kennett forced the merger of the former cities of Brunswick , Coburg and parts of Broadmeadows . About 160,000 people live in Moreland on an area of 51 km² .

Moreland City Council has eleven members elected by the residents of the three wards (four councilors each in north-west and north-east, three in the south ward). These three districts are determined independently of the districts. From among the councilor also recruited the Mayor (Mayor) of the Council.
