Coordinates: 37 ° 44 ′ S , 144 ° 59 ′ E The City of Moreland is a Local Government Area within the City of Melbourne , Australia . The City of Moreland comprises the northern inner-city districts, about 4 to 10 kilometers from Melbourne city center.
history
In 1994, the government of Prime Minister Jeff Kennett forced the merger of the former cities of Brunswick , Coburg and parts of Broadmeadows . About 160,000 people live in Moreland on an area of 51 km² .

Moreland City Council has eleven members elected by the residents of the three wards (four councilors each in north-west and north-east, three in the south ward). These three districts are determined independently of the districts. From among the councilor also recruited the Mayor (Mayor) of the Council.
