Søren Lerby (born February 1, 1958 in Copenhagen ) is a former Danish football player and coach . He is active as a players agent .
Career
societies
In his youth Lerby played for B 1903 Copenhagen , Taastrup IK and Fremad Amager . At the latter club - at the age of 17 already playing in the 1st division - the Dutch first division club Ajax Amsterdam signed him for the 1975/76 season . On April 11, 1976 (27th matchday) he made his debut in the 4-1 win at home against the Go Ahead Eagles Deventer in the Eredivisie . While he was a member of the club, he won five championships and twice the cup.
For the 1983/84 season he was signed by FC Bayern Munich , where he was supposed to replace Paul Breitner , who had resigned at the end of the previous season . In his first season at Bayern Lerby did not perform well. The then coach Udo Lattek had no use for him, but there was no club that was willing to commit Lerby. In the second year he increased his performance and ultimately stayed for another season in Munich, winning the championship and the DFB Cup twice during this time .
After three years in Germany , Lerby moved to the French first division club AS Monaco , for whom he only played in Division 1 for one season.
He spent the last two years of his active professional career with the Dutch first division club PSV Eindhoven , with whom he won the championship and the national club cup twice and the European championship cup once .
National team
Lerby made his debut in the jersey of the national team when he won with the U-17 selection on October 27, 1973 in Hobro with 2-0 against the selection of Norway . For the U-19 selection, he came for the first time on April 30, 1974 in Holbæk in the 0-2 defeat against the Sweden selection ; his first international goal he achieved on September 24, 1975 in Tamby in the 2-4 defeat against the selection of Sweden. For the U-21 national team he played three times, the first time on October 28, 1976 in the 2-0 victory over Sweden in Copenhagen , the last time on September 20, 1977 in the 0: 1 defeat against Poland in Novi Sad .
On May 24, 1978 - during the time at Ajax Amsterdam - he came in the European Championship qualifier , in the 3-3 draw against Ireland , for the first time in the senior team . Lerby took part in the European Championship in 1984 and in the World Championship in 1986 , played in both tournaments in all his team's games, in which he scored a goal in each tournament. At the European Championship in 1988 he also took part, but was only used in two games. Lerby ended his career as a national player on November 15, 1989 after the 1: 3 defeat in the World Cup qualifier against the selection of Romania .
