Schlüsselberg is located in the north of Lindlar in a side valley of the Lindlar Sülz . Neighboring towns are Untersteinbach , Hammen , Ohl , Obersülze and Heibach .

Politically, the place is represented by the direct candidate of the constituency 100 Hartegasse-West in the council of the municipality of Lindlar.
