The village of Stolzenbach is part of the municipality of Lindlar , Oberbergischen Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

Stolzenbach is located southwest of Lindlar on state road 299. The Lennefer Bach flows south of the village . Neighboring towns are Klespe and Berg .

history

Stolzenbach was first mentioned in 1435 as stoulzenberg .

In the Middle Ages, the place was the center of the Stolzenbach honors in the parish of Lindlar . The honors included Stolzenbach, Wurtscheid , Hürholz and Kemmerich .

In 1932 the towns of Unterheiligenhoven, Klespe, Berg, Stolzenbach, Ellesbach and Wüstenhof were to be supplied with electricity by the Overath electricity cooperative, according to the council decision of the Lindlar community council.

Attractions and sights

• From August 2007 to 2014 the Stolzenbacher Sommer took place annually, an exhibition of artists and artisans who presented their works, integrated in a natural garden landscape. The event will continue from 2019.

• A two-storey half-timbered house with an inscription from 1768. The house has been owned by the Becker-Schöllnhammer family since 1974.
• A wayside cross from 1733.
