Thomas Magnusson (also Thomas Magnuson ; born July 2, 1950 in Motala ) is a former Swedish cross-country skier .

Career

Magnusson, who started for the Delsbo IF , took 28th place over 30 km and fourth place with the relay at the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo . The following year he took second place in the 30 km run at the Svenska Skidspelen in Falun and third place in the Wasalauf . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1974 in Falun, he won the bronze medal over 50 km and the gold medal over 30 km. In February 1975 he reached the Lahti Ski Games with fourth place over 15 km, his best placement in this competition. In 1977 he won the 50 km run at the Holmenkollen Ski Festival . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti in 1978 , he was world champion with the relay. He also took 18th place over 30 km. In Swedish championships he won four times over 15 km (1972-1975), twice over 30 km (1972, 1974) and four times over 50 km (1972-1975).
