The University of Turin ( Italian : Università degli Studi di Torino ; Latin : Alma Universitas Taurinensis , formerly also: Academia Turicensis ) is a state university in the northern Italian city of Turin with around 67,000 students and almost 2,000 academic employees. It was founded in 1404, teaching was temporarily interrupted in 1536, and the university now has extensive facilities for foreign students.
