The 2012/13 season of the A-Juniors Bundesliga was the tenth season of the A-Juniors Bundesliga .
As in the previous nine seasons, it was played in the North / Northeast, South / Southwest and West seasons. At the end of the season, the three season winners and the runner-up of the North / Northeast season played for the German A-Youth Championship . The semi-finals were played back and forth, the final in one game. The three last-placed teams of the three seasons relegated to the subordinate leagues.
FC Schalke 04 started the season as the reigning German champions . This was eliminated in the semifinals against the eventual title holder VfL Wolfsburg , who in turn prevailed in the final against FC Hansa Rostock .

As champions of the A-Youth Regional Leagues North and Northeast in the preseason, Holstein Kiel and FC Carl Zeiss Jena took part in the A-Junior Bundesliga as direct promoters. The runners-up from both regional leagues , TSV Havelse and Chemnitzer FC , played the third promoted team in a relegation , with Chemnitz (2-0; 1: 1) finally reaching the A-Junior Bundesliga.

The promotion aspirants of the A-Jugend-Regionalliga Südwest and the A-Jugend-Oberliga Hessen played the third climber in a relegation , with the Hessian FSV Frankfurt prevailing against the Südwest representative FK Pirmasens (4: 2; 2: 1).
