André Kiser

André Kiser (born April 10, 1958 in Sarnen ) is a former Swiss bobsleigh driver .

Life

André Kiser grew up in Ramersberg ob Sarnen, graduated from the Obwalden Cantonal School in 1978 and then studied at the University of Bern . From 1981 he taught as a gymnastics teacher in Sarnen and has been head of the sports department in the Education and Culture Department of the canton of Obwalden since March 2008 .

Career

The gymnastics and sports instructor from the Zurich bobsleigh club began his career as a pusher for Erich Schärer . At the Swiss championships, Kiser took second place with the two-man bobsleigh controlled by Schärer in 1985, and in 1986 they were third in the two-man and four-man bobsleigh . At the 1986 European Championships in Igls, Kiser sat in Hans Hiltebrand's four-man bobsleigh . Hiltebrand steered the bobsleigh with the line-up Hiltebrand, Kurt Meier , Erwin Fassbind and André Kiser to the European championship title. At the 1986 World Bobsleigh Championship on the Königssee track , the Swiss four-man bobsleigh competed with Erich Schärer as a pilot and won the title. Meier, Fassbind and Kiser drove to two titles in the same year with two different drivers.

In 1987 Kiser started with Hiltebrand. Behind their compatriots Ralph Pichler and Celeste Poltera , Hiltebrand and Kiser won the silver medal in the two-man bobsleigh at the World Championships in St. Moritz . The four-man bobsleigh with Hiltebrand, Urs Fehlmann , Fassbind and Kiser won the title in St. Moritz. At the 1988 Olympic Games , Hiltebrand and Kiser took sixth place in the two-man bobsleigh. Hiltebrand, Fehlmann, Fassbind and Kiser came in ninth place with the four-man bobsleigh.
