Largest municipal property on Kurzenberg. As part of the outer or western Kurzenberg, Ausserbirrmoos (1298 Birmos) belonged to the minor and high courts of the Diessbach dominion (from 1798 Helvetian district of Steffisburg , from 1803 Oberamt or from 1831 district Konolfingen ) and to the parish of Oberdiessbach . The "Äussere Gemeinde am Kurzenberg" (mentioned in 1488) or Ausserbirrmoos maintained a pasture community with the eastern Innerbirrmoos (Röthenbach court) until Allmend and Wald were divided between the two estates (1633). In 1802 the common land was divided among the shareholders. In 1834, Ausserbirrmoos was constituted as a community of residents and in 1887 took on the abolished community of Schöntal and Barschwand . In 1946, Ausserbirrmoos merged with the other communities on Kurzenberg to form the community of Linden .
