Häutligen ( pronounced Hütlige by the locals ) is a political municipality in the Bern-Mittelland administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland .
geography
Häutligen lies at 762 m above sea level. M. , 3 km south-southwest of Konolfingen and 12 km north of the city of Thun (linear distance). The farming village extends in a panoramic location on the western slope of the Lochenberg, which slopes gently towards the Aare valley , around 230 m above the Aare lowlands, in the pre-alpine hill country.
The area of the 3.0 km² municipal area comprises a section of the pre-alpine hill country east of the Aare valley . The area includes the forest hills of Lochenberg ( 846 m above sea level ), Egg ( 836 m above sea level ) and Hubewald (at 865 m above sea level, the highest elevation of Häutligen), which together form a broad ridge between the Aare valley in the west and the Chisental in the east. The eastern border lies on the edge above the steep drop to the Chisetal. To the west, the municipality extends over a gently sloping, open slope down to the Tannli plateau and the Rütiholz . In 1997, 3% of the municipal area was accounted for by settlements, 28% for forests and woodlands and 69% for agriculture.
Various individual farms belong to the membranes. Neighboring communities of Häutligen are Konolfingen , Freimettigen , Oberdiessbach , Wichtrach and Münsingen .
history
The municipality of Häutligen was probably already settled during the time of the Celts . Various individual finds and burial mounds from the Latène period were discovered here. The place was first mentioned in a document in 1240 under the names Hutlingen and Huitlingen . The names Hüttlingen (1452) and Häutligen (1838) appeared later . The place name goes back to the Old High German personal name Hutilo and therefore means for the people of Hutilo .
Since the Middle Ages , Häutligen has belonged to various lords, including the Senn von Münsingen family. The sovereignty of the area passed from the Counts of Kyburg to Bern in 1406 , and from then on Häutligen was subordinate to the Konolfingen Regional Court. After the collapse of the Ancien Régime (1798), the village belonged to the Höchstetten district during the Helvetic period and from 1803 to the Konolfingen Oberamt, which received the status of an official district with the new cantonal constitution of 1831.
population
With 250 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2018), Häutligen is one of the small communities in the canton of Bern. In the 2000 census, 99.6% of the residents stated German as their mother tongue. The population of the skinned was 264 inhabitants in 1850, in 1900 it was 263 inhabitants. In the course of the 20th century the population always fluctuated between 210 and 270 people.
politics
The voting shares of the parties in the 2015 National Council elections were: SVP 65.4%, BDP 11.8%, EPP 5.4%, SP 3.9%, EDU 3.4%, FDP 3.2%, glp 1.5 %, GPS 1.2%, CVP 1.2%.
economy
Until the second half of the 20th century, Häutligen was a predominantly agricultural village. Even today, dairy farming , animal husbandry and fruit growing have an important place in the income structure of the population. Some other jobs are available in local small businesses and in the service sector. In the last few decades the village has developed into a residential community thanks to its attractive location. Many employees are therefore commuters who work mainly in Konolfingen and in the Bern-Thun area.
traffic
The community is located away from the major thoroughfares, but is easily accessible from Münsingen . The closest connection to the A6 motorway (Bern-Thun) is around 8 km from the town center. Häutligen has no connection to the public transport network.
Attractions
In the old town center, characteristic farmhouses in the Bernese country style from the 17th to 19th centuries have been preserved. The oldest building is considered to be a warehouse, which was built in 1570. Häutligen does not have its own church, it belongs to the parish of Konolfingen.
