Linden is a municipality in the Bern-Mittelland administrative district in the Swiss canton of Bern .
It emerged in 1946 from the independent communities of Innerbirrmoos, Otterbach and Ausserbirrmoos, which had already merged with Barschwand and Schönthal in 1888 .

politics
The voting shares of the parties in the 2019 National Council elections were: SVP 62.3%, BDP 7.0%, SP 4.5%, EDU 5.4%, EVP 2.8%, FDP 3.6%, GPS 5.3 %, glp 4.0%.

The municipal coat of arms of Linden is one of the oldest fusion coats of arms in Switzerland. Unlike most of the coats of arms of mergers, where the old ones are simply merged, a completely new one was created here.
