Until December 31, 2018, Golaten was a political municipality in the Bern-Mittelland administrative district of the canton of Bern in Switzerland . It merged with Kallnach on January 1, 2019 .
In addition to the residents' community, there is also a civic community under the name Golaten .
geography
Golaten is located in the Swiss plateau on the Niederried reservoir, a valuable area for water birds. Two districts can be made out, Golaten and Lachen . Aare and Saane converge on the southeastern municipal boundary . The neighboring municipalities starting from the north and clockwise are Radelfingen , Mühleberg , Wileroltigen , Kerzers and Kallnach.
history
The place was first mentioned around 988 as Gulada , then in 1277 with the name Golatun .
politics
The local councils of Golaten were not volunteers, but were elected by compulsory office and could not resign until two years after taking office.
Since the municipal merger on January 1, 2019, the former municipality president Hansjörg Tüscher has represented the Golaten district in the Kallnach municipal council.
The voting shares of the parties on the occasion of the National Council elections in 2015 were: SVP 55.5%, BDP 16.1%, FDP 7.9%, GPS 5.3%, EDU 3.2%, EPP 2.9%, glp 2.9 %, SD 1.6%, SP 1.4%.
traffic
In terms of traffic, the village is quite remote, as it is limited to the east by the lake and the Aare and there is no major bridge over it.
