Désertines is a French municipality with 466 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in Mayenne in the region Pays de la Loire . It belongs to the arrondissement of Mayenne and the canton of Gorron (until 2015: canton of Landivy ).

Désertines is about 43 kilometers north-northwest of Laval . Désertines is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Le Teilleul in the north, Mantilly in the northeast, Passais Villages in the east, Saint-Aubin-Fosse-Louvain in the south and southeast, Vieuvry in the south, Levaré and La Dorée in the southwest and Fougerolles-du-Plessis in the west .
