Ossinowka ( Russian Осиновка , German  Uszballen , 1936–1938 Uschballen , 1938–1945 Dittau , Lithuanian Užbaliai ) is a place in the Russian Oblast of Kaliningrad . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Tschernjachowsk in chernyakhovsky district .

Geographical location

Ossinowka is nine kilometers southwest of the city of Tschernjachowsk (Insterburg) and three kilometers northwest of Swoboda (Jänischen / Jänichen) . The place can be reached via a cul-de-sac from Telmanowo (Didlacken / Dittlacken) on regional road 27A-037 (ex A197 ). The next train station was Ugrjumowo -Nowoje (Matheningken / Mattenau) on the now defunct railway line Chernyakhovsk-Schelesnodoroschny (Insterburg-Gerdauen) until 2009 . The southern railway bypass of Chernyakhovsk runs immediately south of Ossinovka.
