Ludovic Giuly (born July 10, 1976 in Lyon ) is a former French football player . He mostly played in the central or right offensive midfield .
Career
Ludovic Giuly came into contact with football early on when his father Dominique lived in the village of Zalana in Corsica . Dominique was playing as a professional goalkeeper at SC Bastia at the time and let his career with amateur clubs come to an end up to the age of 42 in various clubs on the outskirts of Lyon.
society
Giuly began his career at ASC Monts d'Or Chasselay in the city of Chasselay around 20 kilometers from Lyon. In 1993 he moved to the Olympique Lyon training center . After a year he was promoted to the professional team and won the Coupe Gambardella in 1994 .
In 1999 he moved to the Principality of Monaco for AS Monaco . His greatest success at the Monegasque was reaching the 2004 Champions League final against FC Porto , which was lost 3-0. Giuly was the team's captain and was replaced after just 23 minutes due to an injury. After this season he moved to Spain for FC Barcelona . In his first season he won the Spanish championship and the Supercup. In the 2005/06 season he won the Spanish championship and the Champions League again with FC Barcelona .
In July 2007 he moved to Serie A at AS Roma for 3.2 million euros . After one season he returned to Ligue 1 at Paris Saint-Germain in summer 2008 for 2.5 million euros .
In August 2011 Giuly moved again to AS Monaco. In July 2012, he dissolved his contract with Monaco and signed a contract with FC Lorient . At the beginning of the 2013/14 season he returned to his youth club, Monts d'Or Azergues Chasselay, which plays in the top amateur league, and also wants to train as a football coach . In the first main round of the National Cup 2013/14 Giuly Chasselays scored the only goal against the two classes higher competing FC Istres and thus contributed significantly to the fact that the amateurs reached the next round.
National team
Giuly made his debut for the French national team on March 29, 2000 in a game against Scotland . Contrary to the expectation of many fans and experts waived coach Raymond Domenech for the World Cup 2006 on Giuly nominated instead Franck Ribery for the position of the right attacking midfielder, also the violation of Djibril Cisse him did not help to jump into the World Cup squad . Even after the World Cup, Domenech no longer planned with Giuly in the national team, as there were better and younger alternatives for him.
He played 17 games and scored three goals for the national team.
