Helmut Fleischer (referee)
Helmut Fleischer (born March 22, 1964 ) is a former German football referee .
Life
Fleischer lives in Sigmertshausen . He has a PhD doctor and works for the Bundeswehr as orthopedist in rank of a commander-in physician .
Soccer
Fleischer had been a DFB referee for SV Hallstadt since 1990 . Since 1991 he has been in charge of games in the 2nd Bundesliga and since 1995 also games in the Bundesliga .
Fleischer was a FIFA referee from 2000 to 2006 and participated as a referee at the U-18 European Football Championship in Finland in 2001 and the U-16 European Football Championship in 2000 in Israel .
On May 30, 2009, he whistled the final of the DFB Cup between Bayer 04 Leverkusen and Werder Bremen .
On April 3, 2010, he whistled his last Bundesliga game, the match between VfB Stuttgart and Borussia Mönchengladbach ended 2-1. In April 2010 he accepted a position as a doctor in the USA and has not been a referee since then.
