Hinsbourg (German Hinsburg ) is a French commune with 112 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Bas-Rhin department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace ).
geography
The village is part of the Palatinate Forest-Vosges du Nord biosphere reserve . The neighboring communities are Puberg in the northeast, Zittersheim in the east, La Petite-Pierre in the southeast, Struth in the southwest and Frohmuhl in the west.
history
From 1871 until the end of the First World War , Hinsbourg belonged to the German Empire as part of the realm of Alsace-Lorraine and was assigned to the district of Zabern in the district of Lower Alsace .
