Kapušany ( Hungarian Kapi ) is a municipality in eastern Slovakia . It is located in the northern foothills of the Košická kotlina between the Slanské vrchy and the Šarišská vrchovina on the Sekčov river, about 8 km from Prešov .
The place was first mentioned as Kapy in 1248 .
The sights in the municipality are: ruins of a medieval castle (13th century), church of Saint Martin from 1789 and a rococo-style castle.
