Diocesan Bishops of Albano
In addition to the Cardinal Bishop , who has the title of Bishop of Albano, there is also a diocesan bishop who carries out the episcopal tasks in the diocese . Pope John XXIII decided in 1962 that the cardinal bishops should continue to be the titleholders of the suburbicarian bishoprics, but without the pastoral obligations that pleno jure were given to a diocesan bishop.
