Amanalco is a municipality in the Mexican state of México . The seat of the municipality is Amanalco de Becerra , but the largest places in the municipality are San Juan , San Jerónimo and San Bartolo . The community had 22,868 inhabitants in 2010, its area is 223 km² .

Amanalco is located in the western part of the state of Mexico, about 50 km west of Toluca de Lerdo .

The municipality of Amanalco is bordered by the municipalities of Zinacantepec , Almoloya de Juárez , Villa de Allende , Villa Victoria , Donato Guerra , Temascaltepec and Valle de Bravo .
