Chicoloapan is a municipality in the Mexican state of México . It belongs to the Zona Metropolitana del Valle de México , the metropolitan region around Mexico City . The seat of the municipality and its largest town is Chicoloapan de Juárez . The municipality had 175,053 inhabitants in 2010, its area is 54.1  km² .

Chicoloapan is located in the east of the state of Mexico, 10 km south of Texcoco de Mora .

The municipality borders on the municipalities Texcoco , Ixtapaluca and La Paz and Chimalhuacán .
