Tepotzotlán is a municipality in the Mexican state of México . It belongs to the Zona Metropolitana del Valle de México , the metropolitan region around Mexico City . The seat of the municipality is the eponymous Tepotzotlán .
In 2010 the municipality had 88,559 inhabitants in 21,208 households, its area is 188.8 km² .

Coyotepec is located in the north of the state of México, about 40 km north of Mexico City at an altitude of about 2250 m to 2900 m .
The municipality borders on the municipality of Villa del Carbón , Huehuetoca , Coyotepec , Teoloyucán , Cuautitlán Izcalli and Nicolás Romero and the state of Hidalgo .
