Coatepec Harinas is a municipality in the Mexican state of México . The municipality had 36,174 inhabitants at the 2010 census, its area amounts to 283 km². The administrative seat and largest place of the municipality with almost 7,000 inhabitants is the eponymous Coatapec Harinas ; other places with more than a thousand inhabitants are Acuitlapilco , Primera de Analco , Llano Grande and Chiltepec de Hidalgo .

Coatepec Harinas is located in the southwest of the state of México, about 50 km southwest of Toluca de Lerdo .

The Municipio Coatepec Harinas borders the Municipios Villa Guerrero , Toluca , Temascaltepec , Zinacantepec , Texcaltitlán , Ixtapan de la Sal and Almoloya de Alquisiras .
