Valle de Bravo is a municipality in the Mexican state of México . The seat of the municipality is the Valle de Bravo of the same name . The community had 61,599 inhabitants in 2010, its area is 431.6 km² .

geography

Valle de Bravo is located in the west of the state of México, about 85 km west of Toluca de Lerdo . The municipality comprises mostly mountainous terrain, two thirds of the municipality area is covered by coniferous forests. The main town is located on the Valle de Bravo reservoir of the same name .

The municipality of Valle de Bravo borders the municipalities of Ixtapan de Oro , Donato Guerra , Amanalco , Temascaltepec , Zacazonapan and Santo Tomás .

There are 74 towns in the municipality, the largest of which with 25,554 inhabitants is the main town of Valle de Bravo . Five other places have at least 1,500 inhabitants: Colorines , Loma Bonita , El Arco , Santa María Pipioltepec and San Gabriel Ixtla .
