Jilotepec is a municipality in the Mexican state of México . The seat of the municipality and its largest town is Jilotepec de Molina Enríquez . The next larger towns in the municipality are Las Huertas , San Pablo Huantepec , Canalejas and San Miguel de la Victoria .

The community had 83,755 inhabitants in 2010, its area is 587.9 km² . A large part of the area is used for agriculture.

Jilotepec is located in the north of the state of México, about halfway between Mexico City and Santiago de Querétaro .

The municipality of Jilotepec borders on the municipalities of Polotitlán , Soyaniquilpan de Juárez , Chapa de Mota , Timilpan and Aculco and the state of Hidalgo .
