Capulhuac is a municipality in the Mexican state of México . The seat of the municipality and its largest town is Capulhuac de Mirafuentes ; other larger places in the municipality are San Miguel Almaya and San Nicolás Tlazala . The municipality had 34,101 inhabitants in 2010, its area is 32.3 km² .

Capulhuac is located in the western part of the state of México, 15 km southeast of Toluca de Lerdo .

The municipality borders on the municipalities Lerma , Ocoyoacac , Tianguistenco and San Mateo Atenco .
