San Felipe del Progreso is a municipality in the Mexican state of México . The community had 100,201 inhabitants in 2010, its area is 369.8 km² . The administrative center is the eponymous San Felipe del Progreso .

San Felipe del Progreso is located in the northwest of the state of México, about 60 km northwest of Toluca de Lerdo , at an altitude of up to 3300  m . The area of ​​the municipality is mainly used for agriculture. The Tepetitlán reservoir forms the largest body of water in the municipality.

The municipality of San Felipe del Progreso borders on the municipalities of Ixtlahuaca , Jocotitlán , El Oro , San José del Rincón , Villa Victoria and Almoloya de Juárez .
