The US Virgin Islands participated in the 1996 Summer Olympics in the US metropolis of Atlanta with twelve athletes, six women and six men, in eleven competitions in five sports.

Since 1968 it was the seventh participation of the US Virgin Islands in the Summer Olympics .

Flag bearer

The sailor Lisa Neuburger carried the flag of the US Virgin Islands during the opening ceremony on July 19, 1996 at the Centennial Olympic Stadium .

Participants by sport

The youngest participant was the track and field athlete Maria Noel at 18 years and 73 days, the oldest was the shooter Bruce Meredith at 59 years and 98 days.
