Renaison is a French commune with 3,143 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . Renaison belongs to the Arrondissement of Roanne and the Canton of Renaison . The inhabitants are called Renaissonnais .
geography
Renaison is about ten kilometers west of Roanne . In the south runs the river of the same name, the Renaison , in the north the Oudan . There are two reservoirs in the west of the municipality (Barrage La Tache and Barrage Le Rouchain). Here in the vineyards is the Côte Roannaise wine-growing region . Renaison is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Haon-le-Vieux and Saint-Haon-le-Châtel in the north, Saint-Romain-la-Motte in the northeast, Pouilly-les-Nonains in the east, and Saint-André-d'Apchon in the South, Arcon in the southwest, Les Noës in the west and Saint-Rirand in the northwest.
