Schaworonkowo ( Russian Жаворонково , German whirling, Insterburg district , Lithuanian Virbliai ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Tschernjachowsk in chernyakhovsky district .
Geographical location
Schaworonkowo is located 18 kilometers northwest of the city of Chernyachovsk (Insterburg) on the municipal road 27K-125 from Meschduretschje (Norkitten) on the federal road A229 (also European route 28 , formerly Reichsstrasse 1 ) via Kamenskoje (Saalau) to Dalneje (Groß Schirrau) . In the village ends a road coming from Gremjatschje (Berschkallen / Birken) . Between 1915 and 1945 the whirling was the terminus of a branch line on the Kauschen (1938–1945: Horstenau) - whirling of the Insterburger Kleinbahnen . Today there is no longer a train connection.
history
The first mention of before 1946 vertebrae called the village dates back to the year 1611th In 1874, the place in the newly built was District Gnottau (: Ganino today Russian) incorporated, which the district Insterburg in Administrative district Gumbinnen the Prussian province of East Prussia belonged. The Adamsruhe residence was part of the place . The number of inhabitants in 1910 was 406. It fell to 358 by 1933 and was then 364 in 1939. In 1939, the neighboring Albrechtshöfen (no longer existing today) was incorporated and the Gnottau district with the Saalau district became the new Saalau district (Kamenskoje ) united.
In 1945, as a result of the war with northern East Prussia , Wirbeln came to the Soviet Union . In 1947 the place was given the Russian name "Schaworonkowo" and was assigned at the same time to the village soviet Kamenski selski soviet in Chernyakhovsk district . From 2008 to 2015, Shavoronkowo belonged to the rural municipality of Kamenskoye selskoje posselenije and since then to the city district of Chernyakhovsk.

Before 1945, the majority of the population of Wirbeln was of Protestant denomination and parish in the parish of the Saalau Church (today in Russian: Kamenskoje). It belonged to the church district Insterburg (Tschernjachowsk) in the church province East Prussia of the church of the Old Prussian Union . Today, Schaworonkowo is located in the catchment area of the Evangelical Lutheran parish of Chernyakhovsk (Insterburg) , which was newly established in the 1990s and to which an extensive church region is connected. It is incorporated into the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Churches in European Russia .
