The Western & Southern Open 2011 was a tennis tournament of the WTA Tour 2011 , which was held from August 13th to 21st in Mason near Cincinnati .

Last year’s individual winner was Kim Clijsters , but she will not compete this year. In doubles it was Wiktoryja Asaranka and Marija Kirilenko ; Asaranka did not compete either, Kirilenko with another partner. The individual winner was Marija Sharapova , who defeated Jelena Janković 4: 6, 7: 6, 3 , 6: 3 in the final . Vania King and Jaroslawa Schwedowa were able to triumph in doubles 6: 4, 3: 6, 11: 9 over Natalie Grandin and Vladimíra Uhlířová .
