The Austrian football championship 1916/17 was organized by the Lower Austrian Football Association and was contested by its members. There were originally four Austrian championships with equal rights, which were spread across the Austrian heartland , Bohemia , Moravia-Silesia and Poland (Galicia) and thus included all areas of Cisleithania . During the First World War, however, only the first class of the NFV was played as a war championship without relegation.
