Gothic brick buildings / distribution in North Rhine-Westphalia

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is an interactive version of the distribution map for the list of North German and Rhenish brick Gothic buildings in Germany → section on North Rhine-Westphalia .

In North Rhine-Westphalia , brick Gothic is distributed very unevenly. The Lower Rhine area is a metropolitan area, although the brick here was initially hesitant and never quite prevailed over the tuff in the Middle Ages . In the Münsterland , Gothic brick buildings can only be found in the vicinity of the Netherlands and the Lower Rhine, although the high medieval brick building began here as early as the 12th century, and quite far to the east, on the Ems . Apparently there is only one medieval building with exposed brick in East Westphalia . The Rahden castle ruins are located in the north German plain and are therefore included in the distribution map for Lower Saxony .

All places in Europe with Gothic brick buildings are registered here, including less than 15% with Mediterranean brick styles.
The interactive maps are not well suited for mobile devices because the place names are not displayed there.
And the software only works up to a little over 300 location points, which requires subdivisions.
That is why there are also maps without a dialog function, created from screenshots of the interactive maps.
Where the layouts of the interactive and the non-interactive map are the same, the non-interactive map (with one exception) is linked only to the interactive map.
