Capranica Prenestina is a municipality in the metropolitan city of Rome in the Italian region of Lazio with 322 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It is located 55 kilometers east of Rome .

Capranica Prenestina lies on a ridge of the Monti Prenestini east of Palestrina . It is a member of the Comunità Montana Monti Sabini e Tiburtini and one of the smallest communities in Italy.

The district of Guadagnolo (1218 m slm) is the highest settlement in the Lazio region .
