Magliano Romano is an Italian commune in the metropolitan city of Rome in the Lazio region with 1503 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It is located 41 kilometers north of Rome .
geography
Magliano Romano lies on a rock spur above the Valle Nocchia in the volcanic hill country of northern Lazio with its deeply cut valleys, east of the Sabatine Mountains .
history
Magliano was from the 9th and 8th centuries BC. Settled by the Faliskern . From the 7th century BC It came under the rule of Veji and from the 5th century BC onwards. Under those of Rome. The name Magliano was first mentioned in a bull by Pope Gregory VII in 1081, who gave the place to the monastery of St. Paul Outside the Walls . It was destroyed by Viterbo in 1241 under the subsequent rule of the Counts of Anguillara .
