Sanctuary of the Santissima Trinità

Vallepietra is best known for the annual pilgrimage to the sanctuary of Santissima Trinità, which takes place in June. The sanctuary is a rock church from the 5th century at an altitude of 1337 m. A fresco from the 12th century is venerated in it, which shows the Trinity as three identical people. Although this type of representation was banned at the Council of Trent , it was retained in this remote church.
