Moricone is located 47 km northeast of Rome and 24 km north of Tivoli . The center lies on a foothill of the Monti Lucretili north of Tivoli. The district of Osteria Moricone in the Tiber Valley plain also belongs to the municipality . The municipality extends over a height of 68 to 644 m slm Moricone is a member of the Comunità Montana Monti Sabini e Tiburtini .

The community is located in earthquake zone 2 (medium risk).

The neighboring municipalities are Monteflavio , Montelibretti , Montorio Romano and Palombara Sabina .
