Ponzano Romano is a municipality in the metropolitan city of Rome in the Italian region of Lazio with 1143 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).

geography

Ponzano Romano lies on a ridge south of the Tiber and borders the province of Rieti . The place is the northernmost of the metropolitan city of Rome. It is located 56 km north of Rome and 49 km south of Terni .

The neighboring municipalities are Civita Castellana ( VT ), Civitella San Paolo , Collevecchio ( RI ), Filacciano , Forano (RI), Nazzano , Sant'Oreste and Stimigliano (RI).
