The Clay County is a county in the US -amerikanischen State Minnesota . In 2010 the county had 58,999 residents and a population density of 21.8 people per square kilometer. The county seat is Moorhead , named after William G. Moorhead , a person in charge of the Northern Pacific Railroad .
Clay County is part of the Fargo – Moorhead Metropolitan Area .

history
Clay County was formed on March 18, 1858 from parts of the defunct Pembina County. It was named after Henry Clay (1777-1852), a US politician, member of the House of Representatives and the Senate and Secretary of State .
