Farges-lès-Mâcon is located about 22 kilometers north-northeast of Mâcon and about 35 kilometers south-southeast of Chalon-sur-Saône in the wine-growing region of Bourgogne and on the Saône . Farges-lès-Mâcon is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Plottes in the north and north-west, Le Villars in the north, Sermoyer in the east, Arbigny in the south-east and Uchizy in the south and west.
