Vergisson is a French commune in the department of Saone-et-Loire in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It belongs to the Arrondissement Mâcon and the canton La Chapelle-de-Guinchay (until 2015: Canton Mâcon-Sud ). The community has 255 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017), they are called Vergissonais .

geography

Vergisson is a wine-growing town and is located about ten kilometers west of Mâcon in the Mâconnais . Vergisson is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bussières in the north, Prissé in the northeast, Davayé in the east, Solutré-Pouilly in the south and southeast, Cenves in the southwest and Serrières in the west.

The municipality belongs to the Bourgogne wine-growing region , which mainly produces wines from the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation .
