Uchizy is a French municipality with 843 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Saone-et-Loire in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It belongs to the arrondissement of Mâcon and the canton of Tournus . The inhabitants are called Chizerots .

Uchizy is a member of the Mâconnais-Tournugeois municipal association .

geography

Uchizy is located about 22 kilometers north of Mâcon and about 31 kilometers south of Chalon-sur-Saône in the wine-growing region of Bourgogne on the Saône . Uchizy is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Plottes in the north, Farges-lès-Mâcon in the north and northeast, Arbigny in the east and southeast, Montbellet in the south, Lugny in the southwest and Chardonnay in the west.

The A6 autoroute runs through the municipality . The municipality's train station was on the Paris – Marseille railway line .
