The Football League Second Division 1951/52 was the 49th season of the Football League Second Division as the second highest English football league . It began on August 18, 1951 and ended on May 3, 1952.

Sheffield Wednesday became second division champions and also rose to second-placed Cardiff City in the Football League First Division . For the two promoted teams in the following second division season 1952/53, the two first division clubs Huddersfield Town and Fulham FC, which are ranked in the table below, took the places. Coventry City and the Queens Park Rangers had to relegate from the Second Division , with both clubs now having to compete in the South Season Football League Third Division South . Instead of the two clubs took the free positions in the following season 1952/53 Third Division North Master Lincoln City and from the Third Division South the winner Plymouth Argyle .
