The Football League Second Division 1968/69 was the 66th season of the Football League Second Division as the second highest English football league . It began on August 10, 1968 and ended on April 30, 1969.
Second division champion was Derby County and also rose to second-placed Crystal Palace in the Football League First Division . For the two promoted teams in the following second division season 1969/70, the two first division clubs Leicester City and Queens Park Rangers, ranked in the table below, took the places. From the Second Division in the Football League Third Division dismount had the Bury FC and Fulham FC . Instead of the two clubs, the third division winners FC Watford and third division champions Swindon Town took the vacant positions in the following season 1969/70 .
