The Grenoble Technology Institute

The Institut polytechnique de Grenoble (Grenoble INP Group) was founded in 2007 and is the successor to the Institut national polytechnique de Grenoble (INP Grenoble, INPG). It is a higher education institution in the French city of Grenoble that brings together several engineering schools. After the INP Grenoble changed its name and status, there are only two "INP" in France with Nancy and Toulouse . Together with these, the Institut polytechnique de Grenoble offers two-year so-called integrated preparatory classes , which prepare for the next three-year engineering course.

The INP Grenoble was founded in 1971 and, with its nine grandes écoles and two departments, offered eleven engineering courses:

  • EFPG: paper technology, printing technology and graphics
  • ENSEEG: materials science, electrochemistry, process engineering
  • ENSERG: Electronics and information technology
  • ENSGI: product design and production engineering
  • ENSHMG: Fluid dynamics, mechanical engineering, environmental technology
  • ENSIEG: Energy technology and information processing
  • ENSIMAG : Computer science and applied mathematics
  • ENSPG: Applied Physics and Nuclear Technology
  • ESISAR: Integrated Systems
  • Telecommunications Department (“INP Grenoble Télécom”): IT, electronics, telecommunications technology
  • Nanotechnology Department (“Nanotech INP Grenoble”): Nanotechnology

For the 2008 winter semester, the Grenoble INP university network was restructured into six engineering universities and now consists of:

With the exception of ESISAR in Valence , all sub-institutions in Grenoble are located together on the Saint-Martin-d'Hères campus . They award an engineering degree from the INPG in their respective field. The state degree Master can be obtained through a cooperation with the University of Joseph Fourier .

research

35 research laboratories are located at INP Grenoble, most of which collaborate with the national research organization CNRS and the Grenoble University Joseph Fourier.
